I’m not a morning person and having class at 9am is hard for me, but since having German on Tuesday & Thursday with you, I’m really looking forward to your class, every time.
I would like you to know that I’m so thankful for so many wonderful things you do in our classes:
– Correct every student one by one, and ask us time to repeat the correct sentences. Thank you for paying us attention and helping us to improve our German, one sentence at a time. I have had teachers in the past, who just moved on when we said something wrong.
– Playing games on Kahoot, it was so fun for me and it’s a nice way to learn.
– I really like it when you ask us to form sentences based on the previous sentences made by other students. That makes it easier for me to think about something to say.
It’s still really difficult for me to write and speak in German, but I feel really motivated when joining your class. I cannot believe I’m saying this 😅, but I actually enjoy learning German now, thanks to you!

As a beginner who wanted to be able to speak German and also pass the German A1 and A2 exams, I engaged Petra Schoenenberg (based on recommendation of a family friend). It was a Skype lesson format which I found flexible and compatible with my work
I really enjoyed her lessons; she teaches with pleasure and I found her teaching methods very effective. While she allows a lot of time for practicing conversation during our lessons, she does not ignore grammar. Most importantly she chooses relevant topics and knows how to explain things well. The lessons were 3 times a week and I could see the results within a short period of time. She encourages me to practice speaking at every opportunity and our lessons normally start with 5 minutes conversation in German only and this improved my confidence.
She is flexible and willing to adjust the program to suit my needs. Her flexibility with the schedule is something that I really appreciate.
I will rate Petra 5 out of 5 and highly recommend her if you are a beginner or want to improve your German language skills. I passed my A1 exams and will be writing A2 very soon.
